Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Members Meeting

June 2 - June 5

UBITECH and SURREY represented CASTOR at the Trusted Computing Group physical meeting (held in the Netherlands) and talked about the advanced (composite) attestation and crypto structures designed for safeguarding the state verification of each routing element, which, in turn, allow the trust characterization of the entire path to be established.

During the event, Stefanos Vasileiadis delivered a technical presentation titled “DAA hinTS: On Threshold Signatures for Secure Elements.” This talk delved into some of the details that CASTOR investigated towards resolving the conundrum of anonymous but verifiable platform authentication. This was considered a crucial property in the trust assessment of both far-edge and/or edge devices when evidence-based theory was employed. Translated to the context of trust domain characterization, the need emerged for more advanced crypto mechanisms that could allow a group of elements to sign on the trust level of the entire topology. This was what CASTOR investigated with its new threshold Direct Anonymous Attestation setting based on pairing-friendly implementation. Details on the internal operations were delineated, along with the functional requirements necessary for secure elements to support such crypto structures efficiently.
