(CYBERSHIELD)

UBITECH, CASTOR’s coordinator, presented a new paper, “Trust or Bust: Reinforcing Trust-Aware Path Establishment with Implicit Attestation Capabilities,” at the prestigious IEEE International Conference on Cyber Security and Resilience (IEEE CSR).

The paper addresses a critical challenge in today’s digital landscape: ensuring trust and security across the entire compute continuum, from the cloud to the far-edge. Existing attestation solutions often suffer from scalability issues and require devices to disclose sensitive configuration data to a third party. UBITECH’s groundbreaking new scheme provides a solution by enabling a lightweight, runtime verification of a device integrity without revealing any information about its configuration. This makes it a powerful, privacy-preserving tool for building more trusted systems.

This pioneering work is a cornerstone of the CASTOR project’s mission. The presented implicit attestation scheme allows network devices to efficiently exchange trustworthiness claims, forming the foundation for our goal of establishing Trusted Path Routing. By ensuring the integrity of every element along the data path, we can provide stronger security guarantees for sensitive traffic workloads and help build a more resilient digital infrastructure.

The successful presentation at IEEE CSR highlights the project’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of cybersecurity research. We are proud of UBITECH's contribution and look forward to the continued impact of this work.
