CASTOR was represented at SecSoft 2026 through Universidad de Murcia (UMU), which presented the paper “A Staged Control Method for Router Configuration and Explicit Path Enforcement Using PCE and Flex-Algo.”
The paper introduces a staged approach to router configuration and explicit path enforcement by combining a Network Controller, Flexible Algorithm (Flex-Algo), and a Path Computation Element (PCE). The proposed methodology improves flexibility, adaptability, and interoperability across heterogeneous multi-vendor environments.
This research closely aligns with CASTOR Horizon’s vision of enabling trust-aware traffic engineering across the Computing Continuum. As CASTOR develops mechanisms to continuously assess the trustworthiness of network nodes and links, efficient traffic engineering and path enforcement become essential to translating trust assessments into practical routing decisions.
The presentation at SecSoft provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate research results relevant to CASTOR and engage with the cybersecurity research community on technologies that contribute to more secure, resilient, and trustworthy network infrastructures.
